Troubleshooting and FAQ

A member is not watching. Check the rule status: - they may not be able to see the space or page (counted as “without access”), - they may have unwatched after the app added them; the app respects that, - the first sync may still be running. Select Sync now and wait a minute.

I want to add everyone again, including people who unwatched. Remove every rule for that space or page, wait until the sync has finished, then add the rule again. This starts a fresh record. With Remove watches when people leave on, the watches the app added are removed in between and added again, so people may briefly stop watching.

Will people be notified that they now watch something? No. They start receiving the normal Confluence notifications for that space or page.

Can I watch a page and all its child pages? Use a space rule to cover every page in a space. Page rules cover a single page.

Does removing a rule unwatch people? Only watches the app added, only while Remove watches when people leave is on, and only for people no other rule for that space or page still includes. Watches people had before always stay.

What happens to the watches if I uninstall Group Watchers? They stay. Uninstalling removes the app’s records, not the watches. To remove the watches the app added first: switch on Remove watches when people leave, remove every rule, wait until the sync has finished, then uninstall. If you install the app again later, earlier watches count as people’s own watches.

Does Group Watchers send data anywhere? No. It runs on Atlassian Forge and makes no calls outside Atlassian. See the privacy policy.
